About Us
TouchStone began as a home based business in 1996, offering gemstones and lapidary work to our customers with a wide range of interests, creating truly 'one of a kind' jewelry art. Over the next few years I expanded our customer base and services offered, and opened a retail jewelry store, TouchStone Gems and Minerals LC, which I operated for the next seven years. TouchStone provided a broad range of services including custom gemstone cutting, silversmithing, goldsmithing, wirewrapped mountings, and stone setting as well as working in PMC and lost wax casting.

TouchStone offered classes in the fundamentals of jewelry making. The store recently closed when the building in which it was located was converted into student housing apartments, displacing seven businesses. Since then I have built a beautiful private studio beside our home, and now offer all of the same services as before, except with an on-line presence rather than a retail store.
Background
After completing all training offered at the Morgantown Jewelry Academy, I attended the Stewarts International School for Jewelers in Jupiter, Florida. After graduation, I put the learned skills to work for seven years while owning and operating a retail jewelry store, TouchStone Gems & Minerals LC. Our creations have been recognized and displayed in a number of venues, ranging from three years of invitational display at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in their annual Gem Show, to designing a diamond studded commemorative gold pendant, presented at the 2006 homecoming game by the President of West Virginia University. I now own and operate Touchstone Designs LC, a full service jewelry design and manufacture studio, located on a beautiful forested 80 acre farm in rural West Virginia.
In addition to our ‘one of a kind’ custom pieces, TouchStone also offers a full line of traditional jewelry. Please contact us for more information. |
